AbstractThe occurrence of rhabdomyolysis during statin treatment for dyslipidemia is a well-known side effect. However, the differential diagnosis of rhabdomyolysis is large. We report on a patient treated with statin who presented a rhabdomyolysis. The persistence of laboratory abnormalities allowed to discover a metabolic rhabdomyolysis, namely a carnitine palmitoyltransférase II deficiency. The diagnosis of the genetic abnormality allows to modify the therapeutic care.
